LPCFL vs. AK Wild

In a Boys and Girls Club hosted event at the Changepoint Dome, the LPCFL played the AK Wild in a flag football double-header last night.  The boys had a great time testing their talents and skills against Alaska’s first pro Arena League Football team.  Sam’s group (13 and under) split into two groups with 4 Wild players and 4 LPCFL players on each side.  Jake’s group played head up 8 on 8 against the Wild and managed a tie until about 5 minutes left in the game.  The Wild then went on to score in the closing minutes for a 21-14 win.  It was big fun and the boys had a great time playing with and against their Arena Football heroes.

  • That’s a really cool thing for the kids to be able to do. Sounds like it was a lot of fun.

  • Nice photos – I love the motion blur in “Sam on the run”.

    • isaac…i’d like to take credit for that bit of artistry, but it was a total accident. the lighting in the dome is challenging…it’s a combination of artificial light reflected off the white interior of the dome plus natural light that is refracted through it. anyhow, i fiddled with a few settings, but nothing seemed to work for the lighting AND the action. most of my shots are just plain blurry…that one, for some reason, just happened to come out. that run was down the sideline, so it was closer than most of the other shots. i’m sure there’s a way to shoot in that situation, but obviously it’s not in MY bag of tricks. l,j

  • Cool t-shirts for the boys. Did you guys have those made up?

    • Those were included in the BGC package (24 custom tees). Alaska Serigraphics did them (in record time!)…it was fun to see the Lake Park contingent sporting their tee shirts here before we left for the game. l,j

  • Long live the LPCFL! Love, C, Granny, Mom
