New style for the comments…good, bad, or ugly? Should the post author’s comments be highlighted?

I like how the color alternates. The author’s comments could be highlighted. I thought for a moment each user could have their own highlight color for comments but that would clutter things up a bit. I was also looking at the profile page, could that be updated to include users twitter, facebook etc.?
I think there’s a plugin to add custom fields to the profile page. You could also just change your Website on your profile to point to your Twitter page ( http://twitter.com/jonburpee/ )…or we could add a Twitter feed to burpeefamily.org.
The thing I really like is the line length of the text. It’s more readable than the-getting-shorter-and-shorter lines of the previous “reply” format. I also like the way the Gravatar and the date/time/user stamp are neatly packaged in the header/top fill area of each comment. Not as certain I like the way the filled Reply-Edit link box butts against the top of the next header/fill area. I’d probably prefer just the plain old rule (line) finishing out the bottom of each comment box instead of a second, smaller filled box. But overall, this new layout adds a sense of order and enhances the ease of reading. ~C
