A Weekend In Homer

P9271553Sleepy Girl MakennaMaddie FeatherP9281572Captain KennaP9271550P9281574Maddie CrabJust wanted to post a few photos from our weekend in Homer. Thanks Pete and Debra for EVERYTHING! We ALL truly appreciate you guys.
I have been sick with the flu the last couple days, and as all you Moms and Dads know, parents can’t afford to be sick. Anyway, saw a flicker of snow out the window this afternoon! Won’t be long now. Sure enjoyed the last week of sunshine. What a glorious weekend to be in Homer it was. The sun was out and the water was calm.
Two posts in one month may be a personal record for me! I’ve found an easier way to download my photos. Sure saves time.
Love to all,
Jessica

Oh Jess, THANKS for the post. I’ll try to add a photo or two. Actually worked at the boatyard today….that job stuff is over-rated! I still have so much to do around here, it is hard to be away. A couple of friends and I are fishing in the Elk’s King Salmon Tournament tomorrow and Sunday….should be fun. It was so nice to have you guys down here and was thankful for such nice weather. Enjoying the yard with you and the girls made all the work worthwhile. Yeah, winter is on the way…I had to scrape ice off the windshield yesterday morning. Have a great weekend and am hoping you feel better real soon. Love, Pete

Don’t be strangers, any of you! I am hoping for a visit from the Burpees soon, maybe the weather will cooperate for a couple more weeks. The snow is showing on the mountains more. We had a little storm yesterday, but it is nice and quiet out there right now. Thanks for coming all the way down here, I know what a drive it is to get home…..take care and see you soon.
    Love Gramma Debra

Wow, it looks like it was a beautiful weekend to be in Homer. I am hoping to get down in a couple of weeks. Madeline and Makenna look so much like a friend of Marina’s from Fairbanks. I will have to find a picture.

Oh those pictures makes me REALLY look forward to next year’s visit!!!! The girls are looking as gorgeous as ever!!! Glad you guys got the good weather too, the beach combing looked fun. We are busy here canning salsa every weekend…this last saturday, Deb and I did 7 batches!!! So much fun…laughed until it hurt…I was running on little sleep (Sel spent the night and decided at 1230 to 3am it was party time!!!)….Duke was shaking his head at us several times….whatever!! The tomatoes are still producing so looks like we will be doing it thru October again. If the weather holds and doesn’t freeze…so far so good. Love Priss

I’ll bet grandma gave Captain Kenna a lecture about keeping her hands at “10 & 2″ while driving. Looks like she learned to watch for logs from grandpa…

Jessica, what’s your easier way to download photos?

  7. Pete says:

Are there choices for the avatars? Maybe Jessica can share her easy download method and I can change my hideous image. Yes, those girls are going to be excellent boat drivers. I am working at the boatyard shrink-wrapping boats, but still found time to take Debra crabbing tonight. We only caught an octopus, but we are not complaining. Love, Pete

What, you don’t like your Rat-tailed Horned Loogy? To get a custom avatar, go to http://gravatar.com and sign up using the email address you use at wedin.org.

Choose any image you want for your avatar – when you upload it at gravatar.com you’ll get a chance to crop it to just the portion you want, such as your face. They say you can upload any size of photo, but I think it helps to crop and resize your photo beforehand to around 200×200 pixels (using Picasa, iPhoto, etc.).

If you have trouble, I can set it up for you – just send me your gravatar.com log in info and the photo you want to use. I promise I won’t substitute a fish face!

Just wanted to let you know that my new easy download method for my pictures isn’t anything spectacular. I just started using my camera software instead of Photoshop, which always wants to upload ALL of my pictures instead of just the new ones. So, that’s it. I wish it was something grand that we all could benefit from, but it’s not. Hope those of you in AK are enjoying the snow!
