It was a BUSY weekend here on Lake Park…we kicked off with Sam’s football banquet Saturday morning, then we helped him finish his New River Gorge Bridge project. It reminded us a little of Jake’s Parthenon project…we did a little each day for the past two weeks, and then had the big push this weekend to finish it. The river itself is AMAZING. These pictures don’t do it justice, but Sam and Cheri spent quite awhile on it, and even added white water effects. It looks like a real river (you can almost hear it flowing in the distance). Jake and I spent a good part of Sunday at Army-Navy getting geared up for our Kodiak adventure with Pete next week…I think we’re ready, but the weather and temperatures are so unpredictable there in November, we leaned toward wet and windy, but we’re ready for cold, too. This is all pretty new to us, and Pete has been a HUGE help with advice on gear and provisions. There are five of us going, and we each have to board the plane from Kodiak to Alitak with no more than 240# total weight each (including rifles, ammo, etc.). I weigh 200, so it’s going to be a challenge! Back to it here. This may be my last post for awhile…lot’s to do before we head to Kodiak to meet Pete next Monday. Happy Halloween…Love, J/D/GP
