No org for the weary…
Reminds me of one of those seven minute lulls in a conversation…been almost two weeks since we’ve seen a post or comment, so thought I’d bang one out. Am sure everyone’s been busy…seasons winding down (or up), school starting, and - for the gillian-wedins - football and more football. I’ve got a rare evening here alone…Sam is at a birthday party, Cheri is at a symphony fundraiser at the PAC and Jake is on a bus headed back from his game today at North Pole. Jon went up to North Pole from Clear this weekend, and we got frequent updates during the game…the first half ended 0-0, but North Pole (#2 in the state poll) won 28-7…Jon said the second half was tough for West. The good news is that West is still in the hunt for the playoffs. Sam’s team won today and they are now 4-0 and the only undefeated team in their league. Sam had a good game…ran the offense smoothly, threw a nice pass for an extra point and had a couple of nice runs. Just heard from Jake and they’re due in sometime after 1 a.m. Think I’ll load some pics in here and then take a nap since it may be 2 before Jake’s ready to roll home. Hope this finds everyone well and in good shape for Fall. L, J/D/GP

Thanks for breaking the lull on the org Jack. I have been thinking about a monster post to recap the summer and it might be that I’ll get around to it this week. I do have a few days off and will be home starting the arctic entry project. The boat gets some needed attention today, along with some AMCC paperwork that has been hanging since May. We are beginning the scramble to get everything ready for winter, I guess. Are there games next weekend? We need to make a trip up and do some berrypicking somewhere, so maybe we can clear next weekend off and do it. Be fun to see the boys play. All for now. I think Debra and I will go out to breakfast. Love, Pete

I am glad West did as well as they did. I know North Pole is a tough team. Road trips are fun. I hope Jake had a good time. Jon enjoyed the game and was really glad it wasn’t raining. I think he said it was almost hot. Jon went moose hunting today with a friend from work. I am hoping they get one. That would fill our freezer for winter. I hope Pete and Debra make it up next weekend. That would be fun. I can ask around at work about where the berries are. Marina’s teacher had good luck at Girdwood. Arctic Valley has been spotty. Take Care.

pete…yeah, i’ve missed the org, so figured i’d try to stir up some biz with a quick post. your summer recap post sounds great! we’ll look forward to that…not sure how you can do that in ONE post, though…you might have to do several installments.
here are game schedules next weekend: West plays Chugiak (at Chugiak) on friday night at 7 p.m. - it’s just up the road from eagle river…it’s a critical game for west’s post-season hopes. sam’s game is at noon on saturday…they are scheduled to play at waldron field (a block south of tudor just east of new seward highway), but it may be moved to BGC field if waldron isn’t ready. we should know by wednesday.
lisa, jon’s reports were GREAT…especially in the first half when West was playing them tough. jake was bummed about the loss, but he enjoyed the trip and was in good spirits when i picked him up in the wee hours this morning…especially considering he’d just spent 8 hours on a school bus! hope jon scores a moose…maybe he’ll run into sarah palin out there. ha.
we’ll look forward to next weekend. maybe we can plan a pre or post-game get-together in there, too. l, j/d/gp

I’ve been meaning to post a summer recap before it’s too late - good to see at least one of us is getting caught up. As a teaser, here’s a link to a photo of someone’s new car: http://www.flickr.com/photos/izik/2849521572/

isaac…wow. it looks like a stretch mini limo, which - in a way - it is! i love that british racing green…sharp looking rig and the extra room there makes it sort of a maxi, eh? your dad and mom are on the way up this afternoon…they and ben are meeting us at chugiak for jake’s football game tonight…a must-win game if west is going to make the playoffs this year. as for getting caught up here…not even close. it’s football 24/7 this year along with all the usual seasonal hubbub tossed in. yikes. but…the org must go on. it remains an incredible blessing…it’s just amazing how much you can share (and how much family you can reach) for such a small investment of time. thanks again for all you do - and have done - to keep this well-oiled cyber-machine running so smoothly! l,j
