What a great day. Grandma, Grandpa, the Twins and I enjoyed the 4th of July Parade. Wow, what a nice day we had in Anchorage.
We thank everyone for the visits and the gifts. We sure appreciate all of the love and support.
Happy 4th of July

Hey Ben:
Thanks for the post….Alexa is just perfect and only wish we could have spent more time with all of you. The parade was fun…enjoyed doing something with you and the girls. Sorry about the “hit and run” visit, but we did make it home in time to get fuel and am rested and ready for tournament day. Jessica, you are looking great and you’ll be back to 1100% before you know it. The girls were so cute saying that they wanted Mommy and Jessica! They obviously love their new baby sister very much. Looking forward to spending more time with all of you real soon. For now, back to July….Take care. Love, Grandpa Pete
darn! we knew your trip up was short, so didn’t want to interrupt it…BUT, we went to the parade, too! when we scratched the seward/mt. marathon trip adventure, we opted for the next best thing…the park strip parade and celebration! anyhow, would have been fun to connect there in the middle…looks like you guys were mostly on the east end of the festivities…we were mostly on the west end there.
great pics, ben! sure glad we made it out last week…we’d planned on keeping our visit brief, but it was so much fun we ended up staying about 3x longer than we’d planned. that’s a GREAT shot of the boys with alexa. look forward to seeing you all again soon…love, j
We started at the West End, but ended up East. We had a great spot on a small hill by the train. Most of the people stayed seated in our area and allowed the other people in the back to enjoy the view. It is good to get the twins out every day and let Jessica and Alexa catch up on rest. Madeline and Makenna do not tend to rest very often, but they have been really good about resting this week. They have been very good around the baby and good listeners, I am proud of them.
Again, you are all welcome out to Eagle River any time. We appreciate the visitors. Dad, thanks for the help with the Red Salmon, we sure appreciate having yummy salmon to eat.
Have a safe end to your holiday weekend, Love, Ben
Ben…we lucked out on the parade, too. We started with a spot on the curb on 9th where the parade started, then we crossed park strip and saw most of the parade twice on the opposite side (10th). mainly we wanted to catch Jon again because the storm troopers went by pretty quickly on 9th and it took us (Jake) awhile to pick him out in the group.
We’ll look forward to another trip out to ER soon…meanwhile, maybe we can catch another good day here in town at one of the parks here in town. Balto Seppala (near Jon’s and Lisa’s) is good because there are open fields (football) and a nice play park for the little ones. More soon…am working on a “bookend” post of yours. l,j
