Soccer Princess and Soccer Mom!
We went to Marina’s soccer game yesterday, and then stayed for a little of their bonus SECOND game. The Bluebells won both games handily, and Marina played really well! She was a fierce defender, a speedy forward AND - in her stint at goalie - did not allow a single goal to be scored. The second game was against the somewhat scary BumbleBees (see yellow-jacket style uniforms in pics), but the Bluebells took the sting right out of them and prevailed 7-1. A great weekend to all! p.s. In the middle of the first game, Marina’s coach was calling the opposing team the “Blue Devils” (they had DARK blue uniforms)…finally, one of their players came over and told Marina’s coach, “We’re the DOLPHINS…not the Blue Devils!” Funny stuff.

Great to see the pictures. I will be missing most of Marina’s game due to my schedule. She looked intense in the goal!

debra…it was definitely exciting…marina’s games were both pretty intense, and then there were 4-5 games going on simultaneously at adjacent fields…quite a hubbub at times. and you read the picture right jon, she took her goal-tending responsibilities VERY seriously. marina had a killer stop on a breakaway shot on goal …marina blocked it perfectly, then did a textbook cover as the blue devils (i mean, DOLPHINS) rushed the box. good stuff! the level of play was impressive for that age level…good passing, great defense. l,j

Marina is very focused on the soccer field. She has a lot of fun too. I am enjoying the games and learning a lot about soccer. Thanks Dad, I got the photos off the imac site and put them on the soccer website. They are the first ones on there.

Marina’s team is awesome! But what else would you expect from a team with the rad name, Bluebells?!?! Pretty darn focused group of little soccer players. Go Bluebells! Love, Granny
