Org on the fly…

I’ve really missed the org lately, though I HAVE managed to grab a few views now and then, just haven’t had time to really enjoy it like usual. So…wanted to post a few pics and share a little of the latest here on Lake Park. First, Cheri went in for her SECOND round of foot surgery on Wednesday. Instead of getting a light duty green light on her post-op checkup, we found out that the first repair had failed on the surgery the week before. Ugh! The GOOD news, the Doc examined the second repair yesterday and was amazed at the healing and progress in a just a couple days. So…Cheri should be good to go on light duty by the end of next week. And, the longterm improvement should be well worth the hassles of the last couple weeks.

Meanwhile, busy here at Eye Cue wrapping the first Fly Right film. The production draft is pretty close to final…just minor tweaks from here. And, Isaac has done a GREAT job on the web site…it should be going live very soon. Am also including a few pics from Mother’s Day and Jake’s birthday (both on May 11th, just before Cheri’s first surgery). It was a hectic, but very FUN weekend.

More soon. We’re a little behind on seasonal (and day-to-day) chores here, but nothing too serious. We’ll catch up slow but sure, and still many blessings to count! Also, wanted to mention that Deb called to announce Willy’s and Jacque’s wedding…it is in Las Vegas on 08-08-08 at - what else - 8 p.m. Congratulations!!! Hopefully, Willy will do a post on that…if not, I might pop one up here in the next few days. Hugs around…hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day! love, j/d/gp

    Hey Jack:
WOW! Big news from Deb….hadn’t heard about that at all. I did know that they were not going to Italy for the wedding, but I did not know they were getting married this summer and certainly not in August. Well, I am gonna miss this one, but I’ll be thinkin’ about them, for sure. The photos you posted are just the best! Some very nice smiles and group shots. Jake’s B-day looks very fun. Nice job. Heard from Mary P and it looks like luau ‘08 is ON! I am thinking the either the 15th or 16th for the dinner, but both of those days qare open for family fishing if it works out with people’s schedules. I am fishing on Sunday the 17th, so a late night the 16th would not be good. Midday the 16th or anytime the 15th is good. Let us know and we’ll begin planning. Guess we don’t need to raise a pig….pork butts are fine, I guess. I’ll start lining that out and getting the pit/rocks ready. You all start shopping for that special shirt, etc. I have blackcod lined up for laulau. Gotta practice that a bit, but Peter can give us some ctitique, I’m sure. Got some good help until he arrives, so things are going smooth here. Great to see you on the org, Jack. Let me know if you can break away and we’ll see if there is a slot for you. Love, Pete

pete…hey, GREAT comment, pete…sure have missed the org repartee lately, but we just about got things back on track here. got a crew coming over to help with cheri’s annual hanging basket and planter planting…won’t have the usual “cheri touch”, but i’m sure she’ll provide lots of good direction. this next week should be a turning point…cheri has a doc’s appt on thursday, and i’ll be wrapping the draft script for the movie. time to pack it in here…we’ll nail down luau details soon! sounds fun. l,j

pete…just noticed in another post/comment that the luau was mentioned in conjunction with AUGUST. i’ve thought all along it was june…has that changed??? i may have misread the other reference, but just wanted to make sure…as out of touch as i’ve been the past few weeks, don’t want to assume anything, eh? beautiful day here…hope it’s similar down your way! more soon. l,j

Fun pictures. We really had fun on Mother’s Day. The kids are still talking about it. I think the buffet of desserts was impressive to them. It was a fabulous buffet. It seemed like there were no bad choices. It all tasted great. I can’t believe Jake is 17. Crazy. I am glad you are almost done with the Fly Right Film. I can’t wait to see it. Last I heard the Luau was changed to August some where around the 15th. I ope Cheri is up and around quickly. Let me know if you need any help. I am off tomorrow and I am taking Friday off.

    Hey Jack and All:
Yes! the luau is now on for August. For a myriad of reasons, and yes, the prospect of Cheri not being 100% to perform the ceremonial “faces” dance was partially responsible for the delay. I am thinking it’ll be all better. We really want the Gold Bar luauigans to make it, so we are hoping that will be committed soon. It’ll give us all time to find that perfect “loud” shirt, eh? The film will be in the rave-reviews arena by then, Peter will be about to depart for home, the PIG will be a lot fatter, and we do have some days right in there to devote to a family affair. Anyhow, the big thing is that Ben, Jess, and the girls (and who knows who else) will be able to come. Isaac is a remote possibility and seeing that his and Lisa’s B-day is August(along with Peter), we could have a b-day cake. All for now. Having some nice fresh halibut tonight….yum! Take care and you all have a safe and happy Memorial Day! Love, Pete

pete, lisa…that’s GREAT news on the new luau date…thanks for confirming. and yeah…sounds like we’ll have a lot better attendance then, too. cool. that millennium M’s day buffet was one of the best i’ve ever seen…like you said, it was ALL good, and that’s unusual…i think we may want to make it a tradition, only next year we’ll do the bike ride around the lake for sure (though not sure i could have got on a bike after this last one…OR, if my bike could have held up) :-) more soon…maybe we’ll see you tomorrow (i’m working a little, but hopefully not too much). l, j/d/gp

  7. Ben Says:

Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend. We went on a little overnight camping trip. It was very fun, but Ben and I are exhausted now.
The Luau sounds fun, but we probably wouldn’t be able to make it until Saturday or late, late Friday night because of Ben’s work schedule. Anyway, we don’t want you to hold it up just for us, but I just wanted to let you know.
We are slowly moving into the basement. The girls are enjoying playing down there. Ben still has a few finishing touches to do, but he’s been busy putting up our new swing set. Hope everyone has a good week. I heard on the radio today it’s suppose to be 67 tomorrow…we’ll see.
    Love to all,
    Jessica

Wow overnight camping already. I hope it was warm enough.
