Hope everyone is well and enjoying the changing seasons. I’m sitting on the couch recuperating from surgery to correct the bunion on my right foot. It’s going well, and sitting around isn’t all bad. Much love, C

Hey Cheri:
Hope your recovery is a short one! Thanks for the post….great shots. I especially like the trail shot….makes me want to well, run! I am now done at Ben and Jess’….am hoping they can move in to their new space. I was hoping to host a warming of the basement, but am gonna have to hang here now until it is a good time to fly up for a day of hugging the new baby and giving the girls some attention. Most likely in mid-June sometime. Hope you can come down and visit soon. Guess you all heard the luau is now on tap for the the weekend of August 15-17. I am thinking the 16th for the party. I have a charter on the 17th, but we are blocking out the 15 and 16th for family. Looking fwd to it….that pig will be fat by then! By the way, you guys are willing to raise a pig for the luau, right? All for now. Take care of the foot and we’ll be seeing you on the trail soon. Love, Pete
Cheri…love all the pics…what great looking kids!!! I will show Giselle “Manina” in her princess outfit…she will enjoy that…Glad to hear you are keeping off your feet….I didn’t listen to that so well when i had my surgeries so many years ago…it was when my maturity had not yet set in I’m sure you are wearing the fashionable “boot”…but they are probably not so goofy as they used to be…not to encourage them but the kids could decorate them with stickers and jewels for you…I did that with mine when i was done and gave them to a co-worker for his birthday. Well looks like we will see you in August now….sounds like it will work a bit better for all of us. Take care, Love Priss (P.S. we are supposed to have 80 degrees today!!! Giselle and I are heading to town for bubbles and such)
No promises, but there’s some chance we might be able make it up there in August - we’re looking at tickets for Mandi’s grandpa to visit around then.
Cheri, a friend of ours had some foot or ankle surgery recently. While stumbling around with a cast on one foot she tripped and now has one of those goofy booties on the other foot. Be careful! If you get really bored the org headers are 760×200 pixels…
Enjoy your sitting around as much as you can. I am sure it is frustrating but maybe you might remember what being bored feels like. I thought about that the other day, I can’t remember the last time I was bored. I think I would fall asleep before I got bored. Let us know if you need anything. Take Care.
great pics and fun org dialogue…glad i tuned in this morning. am hoping to come out of the eye cue cave soon…should have the “big one” wrapped in the next week, then things should throttle back to a more comfortable pace. sorry to report that we’re not raising a pig for the luau…i KNOW this because cheri just told the boys the other day that, “we are NOT raising a couple of pigs here.” looking forward to seeing the new basement…it looked great the LAST time we saw it months ago, so it must be pretty fabulous now that it’s done. and priss, i don’t think the boots are any more attractive these days, though the ice water boot is pretty darn ingenious (and works really well). i saw the forecast for seattle yesterday morning (86)…and 92 for portland. yikes! isaac…that’d be great if you make it up in august…let’s plan for a trip to peter’s sushi for sure, and maybe we can wrangle a trip to homer about then, too. as for cheri’s recovery, debra, it seems to be going a lot smoother than last time (which is easy for ME to say). it DOES seem to be going well, though, and i think cheri’s decision to do it in early spring makes more sense in a lot of ways.
back to it here. am going to try to do a post this weekend…it’s been so long, i think i now have an inkling of what “post-partum” blues is all about. a great weekend to all! l,j/d/gp
Hey Jack:
You better be able to make it down in August. Let’s think about the 15, 16, 17th for the luau. Peter leaves the 20th, so that seems to make sense. No problem on the pig….am sure it is not allowed there and I know it is not here. We’ll figure that out before we need to. Fishing, fishing, and more fishing for me here, so come on down and get in on one of these trips. Debrqa sure had fun last weekend. All for now. Cheri….there is no reason to be bored. Haqve jake wheel you around the Lake in the wheelbarrow! Have a good weekend. Love, Pete PS: Isaac…you mean you’ll come here again before we come there? WOW!
Teresa will be visiting from Atlanta in August, and she loves Homer! We’ll have to work around football practice for both Sam’s and Jake’s teams, but I think we can figure it out. Especially if those Christians and D.C. Wedins are all up here. (Priss and I need to pose for our 2008 special face portrait
I’d LOVE to go around the lake today–it’s a beautiful day here. But I’m supposed to keep totally off the foot for five days, and I’m doing my best to adhere to that today.
When is the actual due date for the pending arrival? Is it close to M & M’s b-day? Isaac, I’ve trimmed out a couple of photo possibilities for rotation into the org header. Should I just send those files to you? Debra and Lisa, nope, haven’t been bored yet–slightly nauseous from the pain medication from time-to-time, but not at all bored. I may even head out to sit in the backyard this afternoon. There’s a robin nesting out there in one of the trees–it lets loose with a big song out there every morning and evening–I’m going to see if I can spot the nest. ~C
Today sure is a lovely day to sit outside. I should head outside soon and work on the yard. I have been doing laundry this morning, even folding and putting it away.
That is great that Teresa will be up this summer. A luau in Homer sounds fun. I will try not to forget the grass skirts this time.
Cheri, you can email me the images you want as headers, but if you want *control* over what part gets used I suggest you resize/crop to get just the 760×200 pixel slices you like best. Then you can even add your own fancy text ala “the ORG”…
Man, your vacation is almost over! I am hoping we get some kind of fence together before the luau, adults and children being the concern. Yesterday Pete and I went out and threw everything out of the greenhouse and got some plants - I got them all in and they made it through the night…
Alfa is growing like a weed. I hope she is still supposed to be growing. She sure is a great companion. We had some friends over the other night and she crawled up my friend Jean’s back and started licking her hair. Thanks again Lisa….
Ah! Turns out, my vacation is just beginning–over again. Learned today at my post-op appointment that the bone slipped apart out of position. After much tugging and pushing at my foot to “reduce” the fracture (highly icky), which did not work, I’m now scheduled to go back to surgery in the morning. Last Tuesday night I was looking at the original surgery the next day. Now it’s deja vu all over again. Highly depressing.
I’m glad you gave us an Alfa report! I’ve been wondering about her. What a treat to have her. Rufus and Jamie were the ONLY ones not depressed by the re-surg news. They feel now entitled to my lap/shoulder/feet/seat/blanket. All the time. C
Oh Cheri, I’m so sorry to hear about the re-surg. I went thru that with one of mine too. they had actually put a post in there to hold it in place that was sticking out of the top of my foot!!! So disgusting, but they had to go back in and quickly remove it because I am allergic to metal!!! I feel your pain sister, and I know that now that they have it right you will have a speedy recovery. I’m sure all your boys are taking good care of you too. Well you now have an opportunity to “practice” for our face shot in August!!! Take care Love Priss
