Hey Will:
Good news that Jack says you guys want to come up. Why not plan on being here for the luau. June 14 and 15 here in Homer. We will make room for you. We all had fun last year and this one coluld be better, you never know. There will be fishing, beach walking, eating (of course) and well, whatever. Would love to have you guys. Hope the birthday was a good one….they get less and less “good” as time goes on. Love, Uncle Pete

pete…glad to get the dates on the luau…saw some spring airfare deals from ak air in today’s ADN, but traval has to occur before 6/12. seems like the ak air CC idea would work well…sign up miles + companion coupon. i’ve been watching for other deals, but just haven’t seen the fare wars we’ve seen in years past. l,j

Jack…I know what you mean about “deals”. We are trying to craft our “show special” amd all I have to do is refer to the last fuel slip to calculate how “special” it will be. I checked on a small rental car from Hertz in Anch for July for a guy…almost $800 for 5 days! I am hoping to at least eek out a average season this year. Pete

pete…yeah, that rental car scenario makes their name SO perfect: HURTS. the limo guys talked at length about fuel prices…it’s killing them, too. the problem, as you know, is that a lot of folks have even less discretionary income this year, so they’re not prepared to pay higher prices for elective purchases. this is affecting several of my clients and the way they do business…princess is a prime example. to remain competitive on pricing, they’re having to modify some of the services and amenities and hold the line on costs to absorb the higher fuel costs. it bites on both ends. meanwhile, i think you’re better prepared than many to overcome the fuel challenge…you’re the master of making big hauls on short haul trips. see you later this week…l,j
