Jon…This is GREAT. Didn’t have a chance to really check it out after we spoke/emailed this morning, but just dug into it a bit, and it looks and works great. I also went to the Burpee family site…the flickr experiments there seem to have paid off, eh? With the new improvements, I think flickr has my vote as the pic uploader for the org. Isaac knows best on that, so looking forward to hearing his thoughts on whether the Wordpress-Flickr conflicts have been satisfactorily resolved, and/or if he feels Picasa (or another program) might work better. Meanwhile, now that I understand it better, Flickr works really well for me…nice way to preview pics, AND have the option of downloading select full resolution pics. I’m going to join (it will work well for non-org uploads, too). ALSO, Pete, Cheri and I talked about dinner here in town on Tuesday night. Are you guys available? Let me know, and we can nail down time/place. l,j

    Hey Jon/jack:
Thanks for posting yet another set of photos. Some really good ones in this bunch, as in others. I would be interested in somehow compiling the “best of the best” in an album for everyone. Jack, the photo of you four with the bridge in the background IS the quintessential LaConner photo….WTG! Group shot, next time? There are so many really good ones among what we have. Is there someone who could be the selection committee? I think an album would befun for all…even those that did not make it this year. Jon, missed you at dinner last night. Was a fun gathering and the twins just loved it! Cheri, you definitely have a way with the girls! Let us all plan on a basement warming soon at Ben and Jess’. Should be ready after my next visit. My knees are killing me, but with four days of fishing coming up, they should recover. BTW, the Sportsman’s Show is April 3,4,5, and 6, so we will see you all there? Love, pete

pete…much as i like the group shot setting and backdrop this year, there ARE better ones. we drove down to the canal that last morning and grabbed that final family bridge shot. there is a very nice floating deck there (see behind us in that pic…be great to get access to that (it’s fenced off). also, i’ve noticed that many la conner photos and paintings favor perspectives of the bridge from the other side of the canal, so maybe we scout for a good spot over there, too. cheri may have a thought on that…her first-day run in la conner took her over that way.

my dream pic is one of all of us ON THE BRIDGE. cheri said it would be tough (the walkway is pretty narrow), but if we could set it up (and had a photographer lined up), it would be a pic for the ages!

the photo album is a great idea! maybe do it sort of yearbook style…group shots (large and small)…miscellaneous candids…then, a few categories/activities (dinner, garden club, park, turkeys, football, pinochle, food, etc.). too bad we didn’t get a few casino shots! :-) anyhow, it would also be fun to do a “people’s choice” section (maybe on the candids) where everyone who attended would pick their favorite 3 photos (kinda like we did on the cd).

as for getting all the pics in one place, isaac and/or jon can do that. i think jon currently has his, lisa’s, yours, debra’s and mine in his flickr album…just need to find a way to get pics from down south (which can be uploaded to flickr, or…?). anyhow, i know everyone wants to have a central location for reunion pics on the org, anyway…soon as we get that done, we can figure out the album scenario.

yeah, dinner was fun…we’ll look forward to the “basement warming” soon.

    l, j

If anyone wants help uploading to a Flickr account I can help with that or, if anyone want to mail me CDs of their pictures I will gladly add their photos to my Flickr page. As for voting on photos one way is to comment on your photo of choice on the Flickr page. If you are looking at the photos on Flickr there is a comment link much like the ORG. Comment on your favorite.
