Bridge combos, supersized
Sorry to clutter with yet another logo post, but I thought it better than burying it in the ongoing dialogue. I’ve paired up the favored logos with the bridge filled Wedin art (including some minor adjustments with text, fonts and colors to coordinate the two.) All four would print two-color on the front, and four-color process on the reverse.
We had a very nice snow here today. Hope we get more. Thought it was time to throw in a comment about the weather especially for Mandi
Love, C

Good Morning Cheri!!! I like “B” the best…and I thank you for simplifying the choices!!! I really like the Blue around Wedin…would that be in the front like on the right side and then the bridge on the back? I am so excited to see the finished product and will wear it with pride, what a great family this is and it wouldn’t be the way it is today without all the additions to the family. You all bring the balance this family needed after “Pepper” passed and then Dad and Gram. I am thankful to all who married into and were born into this family. You are what makes this family as together as we are. And I see more of it in the future. Okay I’m off my soapbox now…speaking of weather….we had a bit of snow this AM as well but supposed to turn to rain later. Oh well the hills are gorgeous all around us. That’s why I love it here so much…Love Priss

These all look great…I think I like B best. B and C both stand out really well in the thumbnail view.
I tried the bridge art in the Wedin instead of a photo and didn’t like it - way too much white space.
Since my bridge with vertical lines (aka Bloody Bridge) didn’t go so well I decided to give it another try - here’s a preview:
Here are the large files if it looks like something you can use: original JPEG (1.3M), enhanced Gimp XCF (723K), enhanced TIFF (493K)
Continuing the weather thread, it’s supposed to be in the 70s here later today, apparently a record. Then snow Sunday, if you can believe that.

Hey Cheri:
I really like “B”….thanks. I plan on commenting on Mary P’s latest comment, but I’ll say here, too, that I can’t agree with her more….what a family! 19 degrees and the stars are out here. We have PLENTY of snow, thank you. Pete

gillian…NICE selection! i tried to access these last night, but the server was down (or something)…didn’t see them till this morning. among this grouping, i like B, too…C is a close second. really nice to see a sample selection in one place.
priss…great comment…you can hop on that soapbox ANY time. it puts the logo process into perspective and reminded me of what the reunion is all about. as much as i’m looking forward to it, i think it’s going to be especially fun for the kids.
isaac…good point about the thumbnails…that’s a great test for how these will play at a distance. on the new bridge art, here are a few thoughts: nice job, but the vertical lines outside the intersects could go away…i think it would work better with verts inside the arc only. meanwhile, in the post samples, here’s a funny thing…in C, i like the open look of the bridge (i think that’s your original bridge stretched a bit). BUT on A & D, the bridge looks like a star-trek logo…without the bold WEDIN, it becomes the dominant feature…those designs need the verticals, i think, to avoid looking like an elongated A.
so…good stuff! seems like we’re getting closer each day to having some wonderful logo candidates come next week. l,j/d/gp

Just one more piece of info which may or may not play a part in the final choice, B is the only version for which the front shirt art MUST be printed in two colors. A, C, and D could all be printed in one color and still hold up very well. Although the bridge is most symbolic in red, I would suggest a one-color print of black or blue–to avoid the battle look of red . . .

Also, thanks for the new bridge art, Isaac. I’d like to try to work it into the small logo in version B. The one that’s in there currently is not at all satisfactory. Will give that a shot this evening. C

It certainly damaged the structural integrity of the bridge, but I tried erasing some of the vertical lines - here’s the result:
Here are the large files for this version: Gimp XCF (711K) OR TIFF (436K)

isaac…nice job on this…as for structural integrity, i think the revised design is stronger and more iconic. just talked to jean…she’s doing great. on the tee shirt front, she wants a white long-sleeve with a crew neck. i didn’t get a size…hopefully, someone will know that. btw, she’s doing OK, but still in some pain. sounds like she’s got some great friends/support there, so everything - dogs, house, etc. is in good shape. more soon. l,j

I appreciate the front logo that can be read without someone invading my personal space, so I really like submission C. I also appreciate the simplicity of the bridge design in the front logo.

mandi…i originally favored B slightly over C (which was a close second). your comment prompted me to look again - especially at the bridge art in these two choices - and i completely agree that the simple bridge (isaac’s first one) is best. can we sub the C bridge art into B? i think it would enhance that one quite a bit. since we have the photo of the bridge on the back (in all it’s detailed glory), i think the simple arc and line for iconic art on the front works best. that same rationale may convert me to C, even WITH the original bridge in B. sometimes less IS more…it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. l,j

I like B best, my second choice would be A but because I like the bridge best with the vertical lines. I would be happy with any of the designs.

Hello:
Now that there have been a few comments, I have looked more carefully and I guess I am stuck on the oval….I like “B” for the front, but the back “WEDIN” design is looking pretty good to me. Wish there were more folks voting ( or at least commenting prior to the vote). I like to be influenced! I think it is time to go fishing…..wish the wind would quit blowing! Pete

lisa/pete…good comments. i’ve really benefited from reviewing other comments, too…it helps to see things through others eyes, sometimes. also, isaac and cheri have both been incorporating as much of the input as possible…there are elements and ideas from everyone who’s commented in the current choices.
i think there are some refinements in the works, but i think the plan is to share those on sunday. meanwhile, i think any comments or suggestions will be very helpful to isaac and cheri in fine-tuning the final choices and combos.
so…your comments prompted one more late-night look. here are my thoughts at the moment:
*i like the big WEDIN (back art with photo) in B. i like the way the info is stretched full width across the bottom there…nice baseline and easy to read.
*i am REALLY torn on B & C. right now i’m still leaning toward C, but that’s mostly because of the bridge in B. i favor the bridge without the verticals. i’d like to see B with the bridge in C…just to see how that looks.
last, my thoughts now are mostly splitting hairs. i really like all of these logos, and i don’t see anything here i wouldn’t be proud to wear. good stuff.
