Looks like you guys are having a good time in Hawaii. Alpha is having a great time here. She likes to lay on top of the leopard gecko’s cage. She runs around here like a crazy cat. She will really enjoy the Christmas tree when it gets here on Sunday. We will see you soon.

Hey All:
Christmas tree hunting sounds fun! The attempt at Christmas decorations here seem weird and outg of place. Tomorrow night there is a big hoopla in Lihue as in “Festival of Lights”….we may try to make it and will report back. Mary P.
…called MK and Deb tonight to check in on flood damage….Deb said you are okay….then it got late, so will call soon, okay? We are having fun here, but it is raining and it blew over 80 the other night. Alot like home, actually, as we are very near the beach here. Well, all for now….have a good night and we’ll check in again, soon. Love, Pete

pete…christmas tree “hunting” was a bit unusual this year…the trees kinda found us, eh? there was a shipment of high end doug and noble firs enroute to hawaii last week, and they discovered a few ladybugs enroute. the hawaii ag rep said NO WAY, so the 747 was diverted to anchorage where northern air cargo inherited the shipment. they decided to sell the tree for $40 each (about 1500 total) and donate all the proceeds to the food bank, so jon and i went over and picked up two doug firs. these are the most incredible trees you can imagine…they almost look fake they are so perfect, but the smell is the best part…the fragrance is pure christmas! unfortunately, i got doug and noble fir mixed up. i thought nobles were the thick, bushy variety and doug firs were more open with fewer branches. so…jon and lisa are set…we’re donating our tree to B&G club, and on the noble fir trail this weekend.
yeah, christmas lights in hawaii are kinda weird…kinda like being on the set of a holiday corona commercial
just heard from an associate who is over on the north shore of kauai right now (a vacation rental house near princeville)…he said the surf was off the chart! yikes. they get pounded pretty good up there during those storms. we talked a lady who had a shop there on kauai who went through hurricane iniki in ‘92. it blew her house down, and she said they found their toilet out on the road about 100 yards from the house…fortunately, no one was on it at the time. be great to see more pics if you have time to upload them…also, it’s warmed up here a bit so won’t be too rude an awakening when you return (in fact, i think some of that south pacific weather is rolling through just to the west of us right now). more soon…l,j

It looks like you guys are having a great time! The girls are so gorgeous, they are getting so big, I can’t wait for the spring so that I can meet them in person.

Hi Sarah,
We had such a nice time over there in spite of the weather….Now of course here we are back to reality. We got home at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday and I had to take Alfa to the vet for her spay appointment, then got to work by 9:30. Not sure what I did that day for work!
Well, it will be great to see you all in the Spring, Giselle must be getting to be such a little lady…take care Love Debra
