City Champions!
In a very exciting game that was much closer than the score indicates, the Romig-West Eagles won the City Championship last night over the South Bulldogs, 12-0. Sam played the entire game on offense and defense, and caught the longest pass of the night. The other team was bigger and stronger, but the Eagles had more heart and their scrappy defense kept the Bulldogs out of the endzone. The State Championship is next Monday at 6 p.m. at AFS. Also, Jake did play-by-play with Delvin Miles (BGC Football Director and Alaska Wild player-coach) up in the booth and did an outstanding job on the microphone! In fact, Delvin has asked if Jake can come down again tonight to do play-by-play for the 7-8 City Championship game. A big THANKS to David Haynes, Rebecca, Lisa, Nathan, Marina, Ryan and Spencer Mezich, and Bobbi and Josh Craig for coming out on a very cold night to cheer Sam’s team onto victory. Hope to see you again next Monday! L, j/d/gp

We had a great time. It was a beautiful night for a football game. Sam played great. It was fun to hear Jake over the loud speaker.

Sorry I missed the game. After getting materials here in the late morning, it was necessary to get some “vp” established. Getting the framing well underway and should be starting the wiring tomorrow sometime. Plan to go home for the weekend, so will try to be back and make the Monday night game. The girls have had a cold and I kinda feel like maybe I caught a little of it, but they seem on the mend, so it should be a shorty. Hope to be able to see you this week. Love, Pete PS: Way to go, Sam and Jake…anxious to see and hear you both.

lisa, pete…be great to see you for “monday night football” at AFS. jake went down and helped delvin again tonight in the booth for the 7th/8th city championship game. he ran the scoreboard and announced the end of the game, including the pronouncement of the new city champs. good stuff! pete, be great to see you this week and definitely fun if you could make that game on monday…should be a good one. the eagles are playing palmer…kinda funny that if we’d moved out there, sam might have been on THAT team. more soon. l, j/d
