Way to Go, 75!
Lisa, Nathan, Marina, Rebecca Hubbard and David Haynes joined us today at Anchorage Football Stadium as Jake played his last game of the season. The Eagles lost, but Jake celebrated a hard-won personal triumph as he walked off the field the last time in 2007. From the heat and dust of July to the rain and mud of September, he competed with kids who had a lot more experience. He got pushed back and kept driving forward….got knocked down but didn’t give up. Jake is already talking about next season, but one thing is certain: we couldn’t be more proud of him than we are today. Thanks for a great season, Jake! Love, Dad

Great set of photos, Jack. Although the jersey color is alot different, it reminded me of when Ben and Isaac woulod gear up for their sports and we’d go out and cheer. Looks like you had a dandy day for a season finale. Jake, your Dad’s pride in your accomplishment is obvious and from all accounts, well deserved. Sorry we couldn’t make it up for a game, but maybe next season, eh? You all have a nice Sunday. I took a couple of guys out yesterday and we got three kings. We even have a chunk to enjoy tonight. Love, Pete

Way to Go Jake! It sounded like a grueling couple months. I am glad we were able to make it to yesterday’s game. Congrats.

pete…yeah, that first pic was taken jake’s first week in his practice gear…the second pic from last saturday in his game uniform. the growth and maturity inside were just as evident as the change in uniform outside. was thinking it had to be 13-14 years ago, but i remember going to one of ben’s football games down there when he played for skyview. good stuff! most of the season here happens during your busy season there, but it’d be great if you could make it up for a late-season game in september next year. sam wants to play next year again, and nathan might go out for B&G, too. maybe we could make it a double or even triple header. yikes! lisa…thanks again for being there…that was an EARLY game for the kids, but it meant a lot to jake to see the family there in numbers for his last game. no doubt, he had more family there than any of the other players! l, j/d/gp

Hey Jake sweetie, I am so proud of you for finishing the football season that I am about to burst. It has caused me to make my first ever post on wedin.org! I know how much work you did to get ready and improve during the season. You are fabulous (and very good looking in your uniform). I also love #75 since that is the year I matriculated from West Anchorage High, home of the Eagle Jake. love, Auntie T

hey tee! really great to see you on the org. jake really enjoyed reading everyone’s comments and was pretty tickled that his football post prompted a comment from aunt-lanta. our mariners and braves didn’t quite make it into october, but two teams we saw this year did. the cubs (in atlanta) and the red sox (in seattle)…those are going to be my picks for the series, although the cubs are a real longshot. cheri and i were both pulling for the mets…woulda been fun to see another big apple world series, but it was not to be. more soon…looks like football’s BACK at colorado. l, john
