Whirlwind week, so it’s nice to have some down time here in Homer to just take it easy and NOT be scrambling to check off the next thing on the too-much-to-do list. Had a great day on Kachemak yesterday…good people, decent weather, and fun fishing. Cheri and Jake are off to Atlanta this coming week, then Sam and I join them (and Jon, Lisa, Nathan and Marina) in Seattle on August 1 for a couple of Mariner-Red Sox games. Meanwhile, here are a few pics from here and there this past week…more soon…L,J/D/GP

Hey Guys:
Great to have you here in Homer and thanks for coming fishing with us. We’ll have to plan a “fun” trip with just us, so I can fish with you. Hope you guys got a good rest while here. Even though I am jammin’ this time of year, I can appreciate how one could just get lost here. Thanks so much for dinner at Cups….always a good time. Even with the hustle-bustle, I always feel at home there. In winter, it is much more intimate and quiet….always some empty tables and time to visit with the staff. Wish I could be here when you stop by tomorrow…will be thinking about you and am hoping you do have a chance to try “the cliff”. Drive safely. Love, Pete

pete, deb…yeah, this trip was just what we needed…some fun adventures punctuated with some needed down time and low-key activities. we played baseball till after 10 here in the yard after fishing on friday, and the makeshift goal posts were fun for field goals the first couple days. sam really wanted to go to the high school football field…didn’t quite make that yet, so we’re swinging in there on the way out of town. thank YOU for dinner at “fresh catch”…that’s definitely on our list now, and a good option there on the spit when CP’s is jammin’. hopefully, we can swing a trip down later in august or early september…it’s definitely more fun when you can fish, eh? more soon…i’m going to take an extra glucosamine this morning in case we have time to do the bluff trek. see you on the org! love, jack

Wow those were some great shots Jack! Looks like everyone had a great time!!! I’m glad to see that cheri didn’t influence Debra into making faces at the camera ;)…….That peanut butter pie looked wonderful and judging by the smile on my son’s face, he thought so too!!! We sure do miss that smile here….we’ve been busy getting our deck “user friendly”…had to replace some boards, pressure wash and then we will seal it again and put the canopy up. Nice to have the extra room in the evenings when its stifling in the house. Giselle has been enjoying the little fire pit. We have had smores and looked at the stars…which makes her break out in “twinkle, twinkle….” So cute. Hope Cheri and Jake have a great trip! Can’t wait to see you on the 4th for LaConner!!!! the street fair will be going on then, its a fun one.

hey priss…we DID have a grand time, but - as always - our time in homer was much too brief. we kinda lingered on sunday and got on the road well past our target departure…another day (or week!) would have been welcome. am sure you hear this a lot, but your pete has become a seasoned hand this summer, and i was really impressed with how well he handles both the workload AND the people on the boat. good stuff. sounds like the deck project is really paying off nicely! pete mentioned it had hit 100 there one day. yikes! hope it’s a little more temperate for our trip, but august can be HOT there. we’ll see. the street fair sounds great! getting close now, eh? well…back to work here…have managed to pile up quite a backlog with all these adventures, so best knock some of it down. hugs around, love, jack
