We kinda thought Mary P’s last day in AK oughta be relaxing. It was a lot of things, but relaxing wasn’t one of them. Maybe that’s why she was nodding off just before we headed for the airport. Here are a few pics from her farewell to the Last Frontier (for ‘07 that is). Love, j/d/gp

Hey Jack: That is a great bunch of photos. The girls look as though they are questioning a call by the ref and Marina and Nathan certainly know that “playing the ball” is where it’s at. I’ll bet all those hours in their Xtratuffs have got to give them a leg up. The group shot is, as usual, a classic. It was a fun week and I can relate to Mary P nodding off (a “sinking spell” as Uncle Ev would say). Have a great weekend. It’ll be a smoky one here. Love, Pete
Those were great pics!!! Especially the cute one of me and Cheri. Attitude is everything! I had a great last day….got to see a little more of Anchorage and it was great. Take care priss
The smoke blew in this morning here too from a fire near Big Su. Nathan spent half the time at Arctic Road Runner in the middle of Campbell Creek with the water flowing over the top of his boots. We had a nice last day with Aunt Priss. Aunt Priss, Becca and I got to hang out by the pool eating watermelon and drinking ice tea and watch the kids play in the pool. We had a fabulous visit. We can’t wait until August.
i actually played with some “ref-u-suck” captions for that pic of priss and cheri…i agree, that’s EXACTLY what it looks like. the real story: it’s a crop from the first group photo i took (didn’t realize they’d done that till i saw it in iPhoto). cheri insists that it was ALL priss’s idea. ha. speaking of Xtratuffs, i have some shots of nathan in the creek with them…the water is a good 3″ over the tops of the boots! funny stuff. anyhow, glad to hear your last day was fun, priss, and it sounds like you had some kick-back tea and melon time poolside at the wedin-burpees. fact is, i think we all would have enjoyed your company for another week (at least!). and yeah…it’s smoky here, too (cheri described it as very moody as jake headed off on his bike to babysit at lisa’s). supposed to rain a bit the next few days, so hopefully that’ll knock down some of the smoke AND the fires. sure fun to start the day with a lively org-session…it really IS the next best thing to being there. l,j/d/gp
I would have loved another week…took a few days to come off the “vacation mode”….I have been showing my husband the “Homer Visitors Guide” which shows all the statistics and such….I’m thinking retirement. Or at least the summers there. Sellie would be old enough to come stay with us. He said he would do it in a heartbeat. He will really say that when he actually visits tho!!! Something to dream about at least. Oh and I have to admit I did sway Cheri into making the face…too hard to resist!!!!
