Captured this group of wild ones while they were visiting Tuesday for Sam’s birthday. Quite the crowd, eh? Nice that the weather is finally breaking here in Anchorage–bright, splashy afternoons and brightening, frozen mornings. Spring has sprung.

Yeah spring has sprung here too!!!! I actually mowed the yard yesterday!!!! Had a bit of a hard time getting out of bed this morning too!!!! But if felt good to get out in the fresh air!!!! Duke has lettuce and peppers started already…I should take a picture of the apparatus (sp?) he built in our room to house all the lights and plants. The cat loves it. Looks like the Birthday bunch were having a good time!!! Love, Priss

hey mary p…i uploaded my comment and there you were! kinda funny to think that 1500 miles away, you were commenting on the same post. we are SO far from mowing here! still have 2′ or so of snow in the yard, and the day-time highs haven’t cracked the 40’s yet with overnight temps in the teens and low 20’s. pete and debra are here for the great alaska sportsman show (a 4 day event at the sullivan arena), so not sure if they be org’n it or not…it’s a busy show for them, and they’re also making time to see the grandgirls in eagle river. hopefully, we’ll catch up with them this weekend…i might try to stop by the show today on a midday errand run. we’re off to the hilton tonight with 6 of sam’s friends for swimming and general hotel mayhem. we got a free room deal, and decided his birthday would be a great way to use it. yikes. have a terrific weekend! l,j

Hey, Priss! It’s so fun to have you just a keyboard away. Peppers . . . ! Now I know how they end up so hot by the time you get them into the jars, Pete starts “steamin’” on them early, hot on the trail to the hottest peppers in the world. We’re still a couple months away from mowing the lawn . . . sigh. Oh well, have to be happy with what we’ve got. So I am! Love, C

I can’t imagine mowing the lawn. We still have lots of snow. The only place I can see the ground in our yard is on the driveway where Jon Nathan and Sam have been chipping ice and making little rivers.

He has many varieties of peppers this year but the hottest one will be the one that actually had “red” seeds!!!! You know I’m the guinea pig to test all these hot peppers….if I cry or can’t eat it he knows its hot!!!! Thanks goodness for the lemon cukes and tomatoes for chasers!!!! Hey when you guys come down in August the garden will be in full swing…maybe you can take some stuff back with you. Love Priss
