Just wanted to offer condolences to Jon on the Patriots’ loss to the Colts this afternoon. Sam and I were pulling for the Patriots, and thought that a 21-3 lead (and Peyton Manning’s dark history in the playoffs) made the Patriots bulletproof in their quest to return to the Superbowl. Anyhow, it was a thrilling comeback, and one of the all-time best playoff games ever (plus, an NFL conference championship record comeback). Bears and Colts should make for a VERY competitive Superbowl, at least on paper. I think we’re 4×4 the Colts here on Lake Park. A great week to all! l,j/d/gp (thought this pic of cards from Jean would brighten Jon’s spirits…these are Cheri’s favorites among the ones Jean sent)

I actually went to the BurpeeWedinFamily website and was gonna send a “you go Patriots” post during that 21-3 period. I held off thinking I could comment on an elated post from him both here and there. WOW! I was actually moving stuff and painting the kitchen during the game, so didn’t see all of the gory details. What a romp. BTW, Lisa, the “clam chowder” is the perfect subtle touch in there. Sorry, Jon, maybe next year? You all have a good week….I get to go fishing today. The winds have quit and it sounds pretty good out the front door. Love, Pete
yeah, too bad jon’s “elated post” ended up with our belated condolences. if that had been the seahawks up 21-3, i probably would have posted before halftime with a superbowl forecast. i don’t think the patriots let up or folded…it looked to me like the colts – after years of post-season futility – finally did in the playoffs what they’ve been doing all along in the regular season.
wanted to mention that a comment by becca just showed up on the Re:License post. my guess is that it went in for moderation, but isaac’s “achtung” was diverted somewhere in bavaria. anyhow, GREAT to see you on the org becca mae, and never fear…lots of aces games coming up. after a bumpy start this season, they currently have the best record in the ECHL.
all the best for a good harvest today, pete…been a weird winter for weather, but looks like it may level off this week following the current crop of flurries. l,j
Early in the second quarter it seemed too good to be true. Sure enough it was. Two dropped passes by caldwell was the difference. One in the endzone and one for first down. I am glad peyton manning will be going to the superbowl. He deserves it. There’s always next year, and it was a miracle we made it past the chargers last week.
Jon
jon…a lot of folks blamed the refs for the seahawks’ loss in last year’s superbowl. and while there were a few bum calls (the patriots had their share, eh?), the hawks lost the game on the field. like caldwell yesterday, jeremy stevens was seahawks’ butterfingers in the superbowl…if he had held on to just a couple of those easy drops, seattle would have won handily. anyhow, the colts owned the second half, and you gotta give them credit for not giving up. the patriots victory over the chargers WAS something of a miracle…i guess it was too much to ask for another one yesterday. maybe next year it’ll be seatlle-new england…nathan will be size 10-12 by then, don’t you think (sam’s tatupu will fit him perfectly!). ha. l,j p.s. sam is a big patriots fan, but i don’t think that supersedes his loyalty to the seahawks.
P.S.!!!! hopefully, she will post this, but wanted to share that lisa called to announce she was offered the job with the UAF extension service here in town. very cool! l, j/d
Actually, when I announced halfway through the game that if it was the Pats and the Bears in the Super Bowl then I was NOT watching the game–doing the Ski for Women, for instance–Wedin began showing a little more of his Colts appreciation. So I’ll be watching after all … and pulling for Peyton, Tony and those horses.
BIG HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Lisa on the new job!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, C
Becca sent we Jean Wedin’s beautful hand painted cards…awesome
Cheri should get the package today or tomorrow .It contains the gifts for her dad, mom, and Cheri. Please let me know if and when they arrive.
I also sent gifts to Becca which should also be arriving today or tomorrow.
LOL to all and Congratulations to Lisa as well
Betty and Dick
Peyton came from behind and shows that he deserves to play in the Super Bowl…..being ahead at the half …was too good to be true for the Patriots…..Next year will be better for Seahawks and Patriots
cheri DID receive the package (i discovered it on the porch when i locked up last night)…she was admiring her angel this morning and she got a great message from her mom this morning, too…tom is HOME, and it sounds like they’re doing GREAT! almost sounds like a modern-day “it’s a wonderful life.” and yeah…it’s great that manning gets his shot at the big one. he earned it. of course, so did dan marino (and a lot of other great QB’s over the years) who never got a ring…like they say, defense and teamwork make all the difference in post-season and the superbowl. and that – more than any one player – explains the patriots’ success in recent years. i guess we have to give a little credit to #4…he played a big role for both teams. more soon…always fun to see you guys on the org! we’d love to see a comment (and pics) if you ever want to give that a whirl. l,j
Well we will just keep on praying sounds like God’s listening….
Give ev ryone my best…I ‘ll have Dick add some picturs of the ice storm they are beautiful..Betty
