Big (T)ime in Cleveland, Ohio

This was shot at the Cleveland Clinic while we were clebrating New Year’s Eve–on Greenland time. Big T is still recuperating in the ICU from his Big Surgery on January 4. The irony of it all is that the more his condition improves, the worse he feels. It will be a long uphill climb as he regains his strength and stamina, but the great news is that the underlying problems have been repaired (for the most part). You all have my deepest appreciation and love for the support and concern you’ve shared during these past difficult weeks. I miss home and all of you. Happy 2007. See you in the new year! Love, C

Oh Cheri, what a great photo! You guys look so-o-o together! We have been thinking about Tom each day and although we are glad to hear he is improving, am hoping that will lead to feeling better as well. You are missing some darn cold weather here. Give your family our love and we will kleep all of you in our thoughts. Love, Pete

hey gillian…your dad is definitely the lance armtstrong of heart surgery, so the final uphill on his “tour de cleveland” is bound to be a tough pull. let him know the boys are really looking forward to our trip back there over spring break…that’ll be here before he knows it. i’ll give you a call when the boys get home (they’re at chen’s on a BD spend-the-night)…aces won big last night (6-0)…if my voicemail worked, you got a rousing earful of the 4th goal. ha. felt sorry for the cowboys last night (not TOO sorry, though)…meanwhile, your mom’s boy chad has the jets giving the pats a scare…may be an exciting finish here. we really miss you, but we’re doing great…back to school tomorrow…we’re ready. look forward to seeing you soon! l,j

Today Dad was moved out of ICU to the “step-down” recovery floor. He had a few bites of a meal and seems to be resting much better. Rebecca and I are scheduled to head back to Anchorage on Thursday. Hope it warms up by then. Snow flurries here in Cleveland. I’m heading out to Au Bon Pain for soup and sandwich for lunch. Nice place; wish we had one at home. Debra, did you get another amaryllis for Christmas? I’ve been hoping for pics on the org … love, C
