Go Seahawks! Commenting from the Cleveland Clinic Hospital–Dad looks really good. According to Mom/Teresa/his cardiologist, he looks better now than when he arrived here. Guess they’ve been doing as much as they can with medicine, but doc said they’d gone about as far as they could with it. Now, it’s down the the surgery, scheduled for Wednesday. It’s great to see all the org activity. Especially nice to get a touch of Mary P. Happy New Year to all. I’ll try to stay in touch. The wireless/computer availability in Cleveland is a little better than back in hillbilly country. Love, C

Actually, I didn’t fix anything - the auto-link thing just seems to be quirky. Your link this time is part of a paragraph instead of on a separate line, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Actually, no. Wireless is reasonably available in Anchorage anyway. I was referring to my earlier sojourn to West Virginia. There (after much searching and asking) I found only two places that offered wireless: 1) TaylorBooks, a lovely old bookstore on a restored brick street in the heart of downtown, and 2) Hooters.

gillian…that’s GREAT news about your dad and his recent improvement, and good to hear the surgery is on for wednesday. i think he’s going to surprise them as much with his recovery as he has with his pre-op strength and stamina. as for isaac’s comment, my guess is he was being a bit sarcastic with his alaska/hillbilly inquiry. or maybe not. and YEAH…go seahawks! the boys have their jerseys on, and we watched the game together. the bucs weren’t much of a contest, BUT that’s a long trip (as you know) and the bucs had nothing to lose (’cept maybe gruden’s job)…anyhow, i think it’s a significant victory and a must-win, really, after three pathetic losses. but…i can’t believe the cowboys lost to the lions…now we get them ‘boys, and that’s gonna be a real dogfight. ugh. last, that’s interesting about the post-link issue…i’m going to embed future links and see if that works consistently. l,j
