Happy Thanksgiving from Lake Park!
We’re about to head for tonight’s Great Alaska Shootout game (Marshall vs. Cal), but wanted to get a quick TG post up before we head out. We had a wonderful dinner, and the pie this year was…well, REALLY good! It was really fun to celebrate the day with Lisa, Nathan, Marina, Becca Mae and Rick. Hope to see a post from Eagle River if you guys have time…let us know about lunch tomorrow if you decide to head south. Otherwise, maybe we can get together Saturday. Love, j/g/gp/gruncle

Hey Jack and Everyone:
First off….sorry we all were “apart” for TG, but hey, we got to see EVERYONE in the last week and sounds like both meals were a big hit with those that attended. Sorry to miss Becca, but maybe next time, huh? Am sure we will post a photo from the Eagle River get-together, but thanks for posting the Lake Park edition. Was great to catch you guys for lunch today….wish Cheri could have made it, but I understand about the booking. Stopped in Sterling and saw Mike and Bette’s new house….very impressive and a “must-see” if you are contemplating building. Unique and very practical. I LOVE the library! Anyhow, I munched the pecan pie as we rounded Turnagin Arm and YES, the pies at LP were good. I think it was a the best pecan pie I have ever sampled. Got home about 8:30 and I had the soup and apple pie for supper…..thank you for the care package. Quick shower and we are off to bed….you all have a great weekend and we send lot’s of love. Pete

pete…yeah, would have been fun to have a grand TG gathering, but it sounds like everyone enjoyed the the best of Thanksgiving. really great that ben and jess were able to close on their new place so quickly (that was a “thanksgiving” all by itself). meanwhile, with all the travel (expected and unexpected) and whatnot this fall, this was definitely a year for a lake park TG. and, yeah…the village inn and tempura kitchen gatherings were a fun bonus. speaking of that, was kinda sad to see that TK has taken a bit of a turn from their former glory…it wasn’t BAD, just not as great as it used to be, eh? btw, i went by the golden corral on the way to meet isaac and mandi at pete’s sushi last week…it must be good because the novelty attraction has definitely had time to pass. glad the TG travel pack worked out…i thought last year’s pecan pie was the best ever…until this year’s creation.
we’re off to the shootout shortly…sam and i may end up spending the whole day there (2-11). yikes. we’re all going to the championship tonight. still COLD here (2 below)…supposed to slowly ease off in the next few days. homer looks downright balmy at this point. more soon…l,j
