Native Heritage Center

Hello Everyone:
Just saw a bit in the ADN that the Alaska Native Heritage Center’s new Aluitiq house is complete and ready for visitors. When Ben and Jess and girls and Debra and I visited recently, there were several displays on the outside loop that were closed. Itg would be a great time to visit the center, as this weekend, my friend, Peter Lind and his wife Darlene will be there in the artist’s area and he wilkl be working on the Aleut hunters visor that I have ordered and will be completed this Fall. I got a sneak preview this week when I made the down payment and I am EXCITED! He is such a gem and this will be a big event around here. If you can’t make it out there, I am planning a reception here for a “unveiling” in the Fall. Keep in mind that Lisa, Becca, and Ben can all get in for free, and the other Alaskan residents are $9.95 to visit the center. Look Peter and Darlene up and I kn ow you wilkl be pleased….they are very special people. Take care. Pete

sounds pretty cool. i was over there last year when researching for the movie…they were rebuilding a lot of the outdoor exhibits, but the center itself is very impressive. be fun to head over there later this summer, and it’d be great to meet your friend and see the work-in-progress. j
