Golden Goose…

No snow at Snowgoose yesterday…the pond is still iced over, but it won’t be long if these temps hold for another week or two. The creek at Jon’s and Lisa’s place looked good, but no run-off surge yet. We went up to Hatcher Pass and the Little Su is still mostly frozen over…should be roaring soon, though…it was warm up at the top, and the snowpack is starting to go. We’ll have to get that canoe up there soon, eh? Should be fun. Lotsa new construction up there this winter…some very nice new homes, including one just down from J&Ls. Also, a whole new subdivision has opened up adjacent to Snowgoose to the southwest…several new homes in there, too. Looking forward to Homer on the 12th…the posts last week were great! More soon…Love, J/D/G

    Hey Jack:
That four-wheeler would have been handy yesterday, but the truck kept going. The beach is a bit soft. That’ll be cool when the pond melts….I can see that canoe gliding across there. Is it a no-motor pond? Hope Jon and Lisa made it home okay….somehow, everyone looked tired, except Marina and Nathan, who had just had cake! Have a good week, all. Pete

pete…yeah, the pond is non-motorized. jet skis would be fun, but the noise would be irritating if you were living there, so it’s for the best. that run down the beach on the 4 wheeler to your place is fun. there are a few spots where the slope + loose rock make it exciting, but not bad if you slow down. ha. that’s quite a feat to get the truck down there…i recall a couple spots where it’s a tight squeeze for a full-size rig.

the aces - after going down 2 games to 1 to las vegas - took the last two games down there. pretty cool. they’re now up 3-2, and play here tomorrow night. should be exciting. keep me posted on your visit this week. l,j
