Well, with all the excitement of the weekend, I didn’t get a chance to wish someone a happy Birthday! Let’s see if you can guess who:
Hope she can come up and catch another one of these soon!
Happy Belated Birthday to you!
Well, after all the hoopla about bad roads and avalanche conditions, we made it to Anchorage and back with no problem…..here are some of the great highlights of our trip:![]()

not to mention that we all had a great meal over at Lisa’s, and Pete got to go to a hockey game with the Lake Park Wedins (I really missed seeing Cheri but maybe next time we can hang) all in all we had a great trip and thank you all for the hospitality and fun times.
We had some sickness and some floor remodeling here this weekend. To see the pictures of the floors goto http://www.burpeefamily.org Unfortunately there are no pictures of the sickness (it wasn’t pretty)
Here’s Jamie’s reaction upon hearing the news that you’re not coming up. Hope the fireworks are a blast. Or not (depending on whether you’re viewing them or lighting them). Truly, the road is not where anyone should be that doesn’t have to drive it. We’ll all just have to have “org” anized conversations this weekend.
Hi All:
As you know, Debra and I have a huge desire to come to Anchorage to see all of you (especially you, Madeline and Makenna), but we have a proposition. This is the weekend of Homer’s 50th Anniversary of Winter Carnival. Now, we have never been too set on any of these events, but they are going to have fireworks at 8PM on Beluga Lake and a parade during the day. There is a craft fair and other events, I’m sure. If anyone wants to come down, we would welcome you with open arms. If we don’t hear from anyone by Friday and the weather allows, we’ll most likely just give all that up to make the drive. We’ll see and either way, am hoping to buy those boys a milkshake this weekend. Love, Pete
Happy birthday to Pete and Jean. What an exciting way to wake up this morning with an earthquake! We must have slept right through it. The girls and I went to church this morning. They went to the nursery and almost made it the whole way through without crying. I think towards the end they were tired and cranky, so we went home to get a nap. Wish we could be there to celebrate. From us all here at Fairweather Dr, we wish you a wonderful birthday and lots of love.
