HEY…HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEBRA!!! we’ve been talking about your birthday all week, but it was kind of a weird day here…the old videos, for example, had us reveling mostly in the past rather than the present! wish we were all there for a happy birthday group photo! maybe isaac can rig the org to play mp3′s one of these days…then, we can sing happy birthday. and yeah, that’s a helluva king you got there! love, jack

For those of you lucky enough to have received a jar of Debra’s honey-smoked canned white king this Fall, this birthday photo that Debra chose to post for herself is it. Can’t begin to tell you how jealous the RFA rep from the West Coast Region was of this fish and opted to get his picture taken with it, too. It was a fighter and provided a lot of pleasure all the way. We had a fairly laid-back day…late breakfast with a few phone calls and then a quick run in to do some shopping, then back home for a roast beef dinner. We caught the shrimp guy there in the bowling alley parking lot and got a 5# bag od side stripes for $20 that were out of this world. He brings them up from Wrangel somehow and it is appreciated. We ate about half and froze the rest after removing the heads and boiling all the shells for a gallon of stock. Planning a nice seafood chowder this week. No creme fraiche in town, so will do the crepe another day. Got some nice fresh balckberries, so those over yougurt will have to suffice. Have a great weekend, everyone and Debra, have your best year ever! Love, Pete

sounds like debra had a great birthday! cheri found the creme fraiche (at natural pantry, i think), but was short on eggs for the crepe recipe…seems jake is quite the egg bandit lately, and scrambled some of breakfast AND lunch. yikes. “24″ just started, so we’re settling in for the season premier. more soon…j

Happy birthday mom!
Dad, the creme fraiche is only for the chocolate filling. I just made a couple tonight that I filled with some sauteed apples. I did top them with creme fraiche, but you could always just drizzle them with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Jack, you can always make a post with a link to an MP3 stored somewhere else. We could try hosting them here, but I’d need to watch the bandwidth.

isaac…yeah, we thought about doing a happy bd mp3 (or mpeg) and putting it on the eye cue ftp site with a link. understand about the bandwidth issue…could we stream an mp3 on wedin.org if it was stored on another server? or does it have to be resident to stream? and speaking of bandwidth, we’d like to chip in our share for the site…i just paid eye cue’s hosting fee and the org has to be at least that much (with the archives and all). anyhow, let us know…we really enjoy the org (a LOT) and would like to chip in our share of the cost. love, j
