Ashed in Homer

Hey Everyone:
I spent the day here at home, covering the newest car and talking on the phone. Hey, the gov said to stay home! I made cookies (for our guests) and cabbage rolls for Debra (the ashhole). Also whipped up some honey habenero dressing. Got a call from Mike at the boatyard….just to give me crap about being a wuss. Oh well, just wanted to report, in the end, there WAS some ashfall here on the deck. Debra asked me to put out a clean bowl about lunchtime and sure enough in the last hour we melted it out and there was some ash there in the bottom! Contrary to what Dandy Dan had to say on Channel 2 News….we didn’t drink it down. He said to eat some snow so you could feel the ash…mmm. Sorry about missing the chance for a visit, but the less you drive your car in this stuff the better. Let’s hope it’s shortlived. Love, Pete (the other ashhole)

  • so, if my math is correct, that makes you ashhole #2. yikes :-) we’ve been following following the story there pretty close, including Dan’s revelation that he had tasted ash in the snow (but NOT snow off the ground he was quick to point out). ha. the kids were disappointed about not making the trip, but we made lemonade and had the kids here friday night (lisa and jon went out to dinner and movie). hopefully, augie will settle down soon…it wouldn’t be unusual at all for one of those spews to blow our direction…of course, dan could enjoy ash snacks without having to travel so far. speaking of snacks, how about putting that honey-habenero recipe on the org? more soon. j
