Isaac did it!
Isaac presented his project to his advisory committee this morning at 9a Alaska time and he made it through (relatively) unscathed! The committee members signed on the dotted line, so he is now the proud owner of a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Great job Isaac. love you. -m.

Hey way to GO! We are too excited. Mandi thanks for posting this historic information.
We love you Isaac!
ISAAC! guess this means your rates just quadrupled, eh? from all of us here at lake park, a big congratulations for sticking with it there and getting your masters. what’s next? will we have a Dr. in the house? hugs around, love, jack
Congratulations Isaac!!! What a great accomplishment. Ben and I are very proud of you.
WOO HOO! Very impressive, Isaac. Big congratulations! Love, C
Thanks everyone! It still hasn’t quite sunk in yet, maybe when I receive the crispy sheet of paper…hopefully Lisa will return those library books.
I didn’t do it on my own by a long shot: Mandi let me go and took care of the cats (among other things), Jon & Lisa & Nathan & Marina & Becca gave me a place to stay in Fairbanks and provided vast quantities of entertainment, Mom & Dad let me hang out in their booth at the Sport Show and put up with my incessant questions about IFQs, and Mark & Josh & David (my committee) endured my mad scramble to get my project done by the deadline. Thanks to you all and everyone who provided encouragement, I appreciate it.
Someone else can be Dr. Wedin! While I was waiting for my committee to decide whether I’d passed or not this afternoon I read a clipping in a display case in the hallway at the School of Management that claimed that Ph.D.’s are more depressed and get less ‘action’ than people with master’s degrees.
“Action” has never been a problem in this family (both immediate and extended), so you do not need to worry about that should you set your sights on a PhD!
yes, action aplenty in this clan, but let’s n0t overlook our real strength: REaction. oops. just kidding, of course. that IS interesting about PhD’s, but when you think about it, not too surprising. i suppose that means that now that you have your masters, isaac, you’ll be MODERATELY depressed. keep us posted.
