Cherry Blossom countdown

It is April 3rd and the cherry blossoms have not yet burst out of their shells. We are in the midst of a huge wind and rain storm, so we will see how many of the buds come to fruition.

Since Isaac is not here to chronicle the blossoming, I will leave that to the Washington Post and reference their pictures.

This webcam series should prove interesting when they post pictures of the post-storm trees. -m.

mandi…i think isaac brought your weather WITH him! it’s been beautiful here this past week…sunny, warm (into the 40’s) and pretty darn pleasant. on the other hand, rest assured the blossoms in your pic are well ahead of what we’re seeing here right now. been a very weird year for weather…hawaii was unseasonably stormy during our trip, and we were glad we decided to stay in poipu (which somehow manages to be sunny no matter WHAT it’s doing elsewhere on kauai and the other islands). hugs, j

I am glad that you enjoyed some warm weather in Kauai. One of my colleagues from Chicago was in Kauai with his family these last two weeks as well.

Good luck on your writing endeavour. -m.

sam just went to “robots” with a friend of his and his mom was talking about the crappy weather on their vacation to so cal over spring break…especially compared to their last vacation to cozumel. been a weird year for weather down south…a little strange here this winter, too, but then strange is normal for alaska weather, eh?

Good to see you on the org, Mandi. Hope all’s well there….be sure to go to the basement and play with Penelope from time to time…..that was good exercise! We get to reunite Prescious with her folks this weekend….that will be fun. She is such a unique individual….you never know what she’ll do. Unless you touch her hind leg….then, she is predictable! We’ll keep in touch with the cherry blossoms….hope your weather improves. I’m hoping it storms while we are in Anch! Am doing some work on a friends house just prior to him listing with the realtors….familiar story, eh? Let us know when you or your friend needs some fish. Love ya, Pete

We have been getting snow every morning. It has been making everyone ancy. I am certainly ready for spring. Although the snow does covers all the little reminders of all the spring scooping I soon will be doing.
