it’s about 85 in the shade here on lake park. wow. it’s a hot one.
we had a GREAT time in homer last week, and everything was perfect, especially the pork rib-seafood fest at pete and debra’s (including sadie cove steamers we dug earlier that day)! pete’s new smoker/cooker was a hit…both ribs and salmon had a wonderful, smoky flavor.
we had SUCH a good time, we left town on thursday as planned but barely made it to the top of the hill. at that point we took a vote on staying one more day, and needless to say, it was unanimous. if not for work, we’d STILL be in homer. ha.
for what it’s worth, i like a LOT of the new site upgrades isaac’s implemented here at the org. only thing i miss is the latest post and pics just under the masthead…in my browser, i have to scroll down now…i’ve got all the site locations in a column at the top (and i liked it better when they were tucked over there on the right). other than that, it’s great, and the functionality seems much improved. nice job! am curious about the “quicktags”…only one i recognize for sure is “more.”
cheri’s sister teresa is here from atlanta for about another week. then, she and jake head back down there…jake will be visiting granny and grampa and doug and tee for a couple weeks. big trip for jake…he’ll be flying solo for the first time, both ways.
so…still a TON of catch up here. am fairly behind on work, so best get back to it. we had the annual lake park block party last night…good fun, but only about half as many folks as last year. one of our neighbors just bought a mint condition ‘62 corvette roadster…nice car.
thanks again for all the homer hospitality, and again, i wish we were STILL there! hope we can make it down at least one more time before summer’s out.
more soon!

We really enjoyed your visit as well. Sure was nice to have those days off….we are in the grind now. Been good weather, so not much chance of a “blow-off” in the forcast. The BBQ was especially fun. Everyone was so great about pitching in and making it happen. Saw Donna last night at the bakery and she was apologetic about the crab…told her not to stress about it…we had plenty! Anyhow, glad you had a nice break here. We always seem to have a breeze to help cool these WARM days.
