See you soon!

Hello -

I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday, the meals, and enjoyed safe travels, as well. Isaac and I are back from Philadelphia and getting ready for our trek west to Seattle on Monday.

We joined some friends in Phillie for the Thanksgiving Parade and then a fabulous holiday dinner at Lacroix on Rittenhouse Square where we started with american caviar, segued into a Scottish Red-legged Partridge for me and Monkfish (poor man’s lobster) for Isaac, and finished with an amazing array of desserts.

Now we are in back in DC, where Isaac indulged me and made a turkey feast; two turkey breasts, one stuffed with apple, celery, marjoram, and blue cheese, the other stuffed with mushroom, onion, prosciutto, and basil. Accompanied with homemade cranberry sauce, squash soaked in butter, and a 2000 Domaine du Pegaü Chateauneuf du Pape. Yummy! Since we leave on Monday afternoon, my office will enjoy the leftovers!

We will see some of you in Portland next weekend. Happy holidays to all. –m.

hey mandi…sounds like you guys had a gourmet thanksgiving! did you fly or drive? we were a little nervous about flying on friday…a couple of storms were moving through, but the only real turbulence was over cook inlet (of course!).

sure gonna miss seeing you all next weekend, but we’ll be there in spirit! hope you have a grand time in the northwest! hugs and love to you and isaac, jack

    hello jack -

sorry, no photos, the food did not languish long on the plate! since we went up on wednesday afternoon (read: parking lot on I-95) we took the train, one of the pluses of living in the mid-atlantic region. next time we go up for a fun trip (not my quarterly business trips and not for a holiday!) we will drive to see what it is like. the farthest north that we have driven is baltimore and we have flown and trained all the way to NYC.

i am glad that your trip went well and you returned home safely. we will think of you when we are in Seattle/Portland and may see you this Christmas when we are in Alaska.

    take care. -m.
