Back from the Edge!
Hell-o Everyone:
Not sure how this will post. My laptop is in the shop, so am at Debra’s keyboard and I think we are registered separately. Was fun to check out the org when I returned from Kodiak to see a new post from Katie and comments from others. COLD in Alaska this past week. Even down our way, but nothing to rival Jon and Lisa’s temps. I was wishing for a hunting partner while in Kodiak, but the logistics are so-o-o uncertain….you need to plan two weeks for a one week trip. Went well for me and I got a good visit in with my friend that is the watchman at the large cannery at Alitak on the south end of the island. Got two deer for the freezer and came home with all limbs intact. Had some great solo hikes, but the skiff proved to be the most effective method of hunting. I’m not the most stealthy hunter, believe me. It’s all about gathering. Was a good time and I want to go again next year. Anybody interested let me know and we can start a plan. I am going to reserve a car as soon as I post this for our trip south. We arrive in Seattle the 30th in the evening. Debra heads east for Boise that night and I will start visiting from there. Hope to get to LaConner, Everett, Gold Bar, Lynnwood, Olympia, etc. before heading south to Portland on Saturday. I am counting on Isaac for a traverling companion for part of the week. Him and Mandi will be in Seattle, but have a few engagements before Saturday. Looking FORWARD to seeing you ALL. Love, Pete
