Mariners, Birthday, Sun Day…

21 September 2003

As game 3 of the Mariners-A’s series in Oakland is about to get underway, I recall at this time LAST year we were in Seattle…we went to an M’s - Athletic’s game at Safeco on Cheri’s birthday (9/24), and the Mariners staged one of their trademark 8th inning rallies and won the game. That was a great trip…fun to watch a Mariners game out at Deb’s and Bill’s with Mary P and Pete…I think one of the best parts of our trip was the Carkeek Park gathering on the beach with Dick’s burgers and a lotta good laughs.

Great to see Debra on the home page…had heard about Jenny’s trip, but it was fun to see pics of her catch…now THAT’S a Kachemak experience! Good stuff!

Hosting change

20 September 2003

You may have noticed that my email hasn’t been working. Combined with some past reliability issues, I’ve decided to switch hosting providers. I think I’ve found one that’ll be more reliable - I’ll start switching the site over immediately. I’ll try to make the process as smooth as possible. You shouldn’t notice a thing, but there is a chance I’ll lose a message or two in the process. Thanks for your patience,

Isaac

A Day in the Life

19 September 2003

Hello to the Family!

I am trying this for the first time, so my grammar may not be correct. Pete is out fishing with his friend Luke and the Hawaiian Vacation girls. Hope they are catching not just fishing. He had a bad day of fishing yesterday so we weren’t sure how today would turn out. It was rough and windy and hardly any current moving.

I am here at work working-honest! It was the coldest morning yet, the stove we have in the bedroom actually came on for the first time all summer. We haven’t had any frost at our house but I bet they have had some up on the hill.

Site improvement ideas?

16 September 2003

I’ve made a few changes that I hope have made the site easier to use and better looking. I’m very interested in any ideas you might have for further improvements. Are there parts of the site that are confusing or difficult to use? Are there features you’ve seen elsewhere in the online world that you think might make the site more useful? Add a comment or email me with your ideas. Thanks!

Fall in Fairbanks

9 September 2003

It is definately fall heading into winter. The fireweed is dead and the leaves on the trees are well on their way to yellow. We are enjoying a few rain free days but rain or snow is in the forcast. Jon went hunting and got a black bear. We have been having bear meat which is surprisingly good. We are lucky the bear had been eating berries. Jon posted the story on our new website: link. I have started take a couple graduate level marine science classes which should prove challenging to say the least. The kids are both doing great. Marinas language is great and Nathan’s computer skills are getting scary. Well, I can’t beleive I actually got to write this much while the kids are in the same room. I had better post this while my luck holds. Love to all.
