Our Seattle visit is drawing to a close, but we saved some of the best for last!  Cheri and I enjoyed every minute of a beautiful Saturday in Laconner with Jean, Deb, Bill, Will, Priss and Princess Sellie!  From Jean’s garden and beautifully remodeled house to Point Defiance and the Jumbo Buffet (Thanks again, Jean!) it was warm laughter, fun conversation and the joy and wonder of reconnecting and discovering new touchstones.  Time together is never long enough, but always a blessing no matter how short it may be.  And thanks again, Deb, for sharing Thursday afternoon with me.  Again, much too brief but every moment a treasure.  Love to all, and we can’t wait for our visit in July!  Love, Jack, Cheri

Happy Birthday Jon!

A few years ago, Fur Rondy was bankrupt and about to become a footnote in Anchorage history.  Thanks to a dedicated group who put time, energy and thoughtful restructuring into the event, Rondy is bigger and better than ever…AND, the event is actually making money!  Amazing success story, especially in our current economy.   On our way to meet David Haynes at the Pioneer Pancake Breakfast…

I have been meaning to get around to posting a few photos and comments, but frankly, it seemed like so much WORK! The natural urge to relax has been overcome a bit by trying to “see it all”, but with help from Debra, today I feel like If I see nothing else while here, it’s okay. Hanging with the Eagle River Wedin’s has been a special treat….those twins are little water bugs. We are an easy walk to their room at the Marriot here in Waikoloa. We have a two bedroom/two bath place that would easily accommodate six with the fold-out couch. Full sized kitchen and lanai. There is a dining room table for six and a bar for three. We have been cooking for all of us here and have been over to enjoy Ben and Jess’ much more elaborate resort amenities. There is a small pool and spa on this campus and a very nice bbq area with six grills. Debra and I are not big water-people anyway. You can Google Fairway Villas at Waikoloa if you are interested.
