Finally had time to upload a few photos I’ve collected during the past week or two. Our cat Jamie has been very ill this week with a “Fever Of Unknown Origin” (yes, this is the technical term in feline veterinary medicine). She was at the Pet Emergency Treatment Center for two nights on an IV. Now she’s home with no fever, but also no appetite and is not drinking water. Keep your paws crossed that she comes around. Eight years seems like a long time, but with you it seems to have flown by. I am a very lucky guy (I like to think that she is a lucky gal too, but we all know the truth). Here’s to My Bride and here’s to eight more years.

Wanted to bookend Ben’s post and share a few pics from the other end of the park strip. The 4th was - by far - the best day of summer yet (my vote, anyway)…a great morning and early afternoon on park strip concluded with a Lake Hood fly-by with vintage aircraft and a somewhat spontaneous sleepover event that started in the treefort, migrated to the yard and ended up in the house. Yikes. Wish we’d hooked up with the ER/Homer Wedins, but it was Independence Day…guess we were all just being independent. Fun to see two vintage vehicles from my era…the canary yellow MGTD and the Jeep pickup (now i KNOW i’m getting old).  Best of all, it’s only Saturday! There’s a big Superbowl Playstation tournament going on here in the basement…time to boot these boys outside on yet another beautiful summer day! What a great day. Grandma, Grandpa, the Twins and I enjoyed the 4th of July Parade. Wow, what a nice day we had in Anchorage.

We went to Marina’s soccer game yesterday, and then stayed for a little of their bonus SECOND game. The Bluebells won both games handily, and Marina played really well! She was a fierce defender, a speedy forward AND - in her stint at goalie - did not allow a single goal to be scored. The second game was against the somewhat scary BumbleBees (see yellow-jacket style uniforms in pics), but the Bluebells took the sting right out of them and prevailed 7-1. A great weekend to all! Have really missed the org lately, but just keeping up with comments on posts has been a challenge. Seems like everyone’s summer has hit high gear….hard to believe that solstice is less than a week from now! Wanted to share a few pics here of recent activities: Jake’s football camp (16th Annual Colony Camp)…this is the camp Ben attended in the mid 90’s with Drew Bledsoe…hundreds of Varsity players from all over the state…very cool! Sam’s football camp at Service HS (he tried out for QB)…it was for 7th and 8th graders, but they gave him a waiver (he goes into 6th next year)…Nathan’s soccer game last week…he was AMAZING and totally “on the ball”…his team won 4-3…Marina and Jon practicing (we’re planning to go to Marina’s game next week)…Tom Hubbard with a Lake Park “Big Gulp” when he made the mistake of telling Uncle John he was thirsty…and, Charlie and me on a Fly Right film shoot at Merrill Field with a classic AT6 Texan in background. Was really good to see everyone in Anchorage and Eagle River this weekend. Couldn’t have worked out better for us, really. Sorry to have missed Jake, but know that we were close! The stay at Ben and Jess’ was perfect. My arms are a bit tired from giving rides, but the dinner and breakfast, the bed, and company couldn’t have been better. Sorry to say there are no photos from this visit, but I do have a new wallpaper on my phone of the twins dressed for church. Was good to hook up with Lisa, Sam, Nathan, and Marina at the Native Heritage Center (and my cameras)
